Isack Hadjar Prefers Development with Racing Bulls Over Early Red Bull Promotion

Isack Hadjar, the standout driver for Racing Bulls in the 2025 Formula 1 season, has expressed a desire to continue his development within the junior team despite speculation regarding a potential promotion to Red Bull Racing. Currently ninth in the drivers’ championship, Hadjar has contributed 21 of Racing Bulls’ 28 points this season, showcasing impressive performance that fuels discussions of an earlier-than-expected move to the main team.

As Max Verstappen faces a potential race ban due to penalty points, the narrative surrounding Hadjar’s promotion intensifies. However, the 22-year-old remains cautious about stepping into a Red Bull seat. "For sure, I don’t feel ready, that’s a fact," he stated ahead of this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix. He emphasized the importance of gaining experience and enjoyment in his current role: "I think it’s good to take experience where I’m at. I’m enjoying so much every weekend, learning a lot."

Hadjar acknowledged the challenges previous Racing Bulls drivers have faced when promoted, referencing Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda’s difficulties. "It’s fair to say that," he noted, reinforcing his belief in a gradual progression within the Red Bull program. He also highlighted areas for personal development, specifically the need to handle more challenging cars and improve his technical understanding of F1 machinery.

"The cars have been very consistent and not the hardest to drive," Hadjar explained, admitting that he lacks experience in managing a car’s performance fluctuations during a race weekend. "Raw speed, you have it or not, but it’s more outside of that."

As the F1 community keeps an eye on Hadjar, his commitment to continuous improvement may solidify his future prospects within the Red Bull Racing framework.
