Canadian Grand Prix: Racing Bulls’ Challenges Highlighted
Isack Hadjar expressed frustration following a lackluster performance at the Canadian Grand Prix, stating, "everything was wrong," as Racing Bulls’ promising midfield campaign faced a significant setback.
Hadjar, starting from 12th position due to a three-place grid penalty for impeding during qualifying, experienced severe tyre degradation that hampered his race from the outset. He pitted early in an attempt to manage the issue but ultimately had to rely on a lengthy one-stop strategy while trapped in traffic. "I had high tyre degradation on the medium. The pace was just very poor," he explained.
Teammate Liam Lawson also struggled, finishing 19th on the grid after difficulties in qualifying and starting from the pit lane with a new power unit. A cooling issue led to the retirement of his car on lap 53. Team principal Laurent Mekies acknowledged the challenges, stating, "Isack suffered high graining on his tyres during the first stint, and sadly we had to retire Liam’s car."
The Racing Bulls team earned a total of 28 points this season, now tied with Haas in the midfield standings. Williams leads the group with 55 points, while Aston Martin and Sauber are chasing closely behind.
