Lance Stroll Set to Return for Canadian Grand Prix Following Successful Injury Surgery

Aston Martin Formula 1 driver Lance Stroll will return to the AMR25 for his home race at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal this weekend. After a recent hand injury sidelined him during the Spanish Grand Prix, Stroll underwent a successful surgical procedure to address ongoing discomfort from a previous wrist fracture.

Stroll withdrew from the Spanish GP after experiencing significant pain in his right hand, which had impacted his performance for several weeks. Following the operation, he tested an older F1 car at France’s Paul Ricard, where he was deemed fit to race.

Aston Martin confirmed his return, stating, “He had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing. Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.” Stroll echoed this sentiment: “I am excited to get back behind the wheel… I’m feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare.”

Technical insights indicate that the surgery was essential in alleviating the pain that had hindered his performance. Team principal Mike Krack addressed rumors surrounding Stroll’s withdrawal from the Spanish GP, clarifying that the driver’s health concerns were the primary reason.

Aston Martin had prepared for Stroll’s potential absence with reserve driver Felipe Drugovich on standby. With Stroll’s return confirmed, Drugovich will now participate in the upcoming Le Mans 24 Hours with Cadillac.

As the Canadian Grand Prix approaches, all eyes will be on Stroll as he navigates the pressures of competing at home while managing his recovery.
