Stability Drives Racing Bulls Under New Leadership

Belgium and Hungary Results Highlight Consistency

In a seamless transition, Racing Bulls has maintained competitive performance under newly-appointed team principal Alan Permane. After taking the helm following Laurent Mekies’ promotion to Red Bull Racing, Permane has overseen two strong outings, achieving top eight finishes in both the Belgian and Hungarian Grands Prix.

Liam Lawson, a key driver for Racing Bulls, underscores the importance of stability during this leadership change. “A team needs stability, and anytime that there isn’t stability it’s a very hard working environment to be in,” Lawson stated. The driver emphasized that the successful integration of team dynamics is crucial for performance, particularly in the complex environment of Formula 1.

Permane, who previously served as Racing Bulls’ racing director, brings extensive Formula 1 experience, having spent years at Enstone, most recently as Alpine’s sporting director. Lawson noted the significance of Permane’s familiarity with the team, stating, “Because of the position that they’ve both been in… they’re both technically very advanced."

Permane’s approach appears to be a continuation of Mekies’ strategies, with Lawson adding, “Not really a lot has changed. Alan’s approach is just carrying on what Laurent had been doing.” This continuity has been pivotal in ensuring the team’s focus and performance remain unhindered during the transition.

Looking ahead, Racing Bulls aims to sustain its momentum with Permane’s steady leadership and strategic insight as they navigate the remainder of the season.
