Ferrari Emerges as Contender at Formula 1 British Grand Prix

Silverstone, UK – In a promising display during the opening day of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton declared Ferrari "in the mix" after a competitive performance on Friday. Hamilton, driving for Ferrari, topped the timesheets in Free Practice 1 (FP1) before securing a third-place finish in Free Practice 2 (FP2), trailing only Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc.

Hamilton’s performance marks a significant improvement from earlier sessions, showcasing increased comfort and understanding with the car. “It was a really good day,” he noted, reflecting on the vibrant atmosphere created by the home crowd. He emphasized the importance of competing closely with rivals McLaren and Red Bull, stating, “It’s really positive” given their recent updates.

While FP1 yielded optimism, FP2 posed challenges. Hamilton admitted, “In FP2 I definitely struggled a little bit more,” but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to implement necessary adjustments ahead of qualifying. Notably, Hamilton’s focus now extends to adapting to potential rain on Saturday and Sunday.
