Red Bull Launching 2026 F1 Season in Detroit

Detroit, MI – Red Bull and its affiliated team, Racing Bulls, will officially unveil their 2026 Formula 1 livery on January 15 in Detroit, marking a new era in the sport. This event will take place in conjunction with Ford Racing, as both Red Bull teams prepare to debut their new power units designed in collaboration with Ford.

Ford President and CEO Jim Farley emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Since we announced our return to F1 with Red Bull, the Ford team have been working night and day to get ready for 2026. This is about more than just racing; it involves using our F1 learnings to enhance our vehicles for customers. The technologies we develop together will define the future.”

Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies underscored the importance of the launch event, highlighting its role in showcasing the innovative collaboration with Ford. “The launch of the Red Bull Ford Powertrains era represents a bold step into the future,” he commented. “It’s the culmination of several years of effort between our teams, reflecting world-class engineering and passion.”

This announcement follows previous launches in the United States, with Red Bull debuting its 2023 season in New York and Racing Bulls in Las Vegas the following year. Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer welcomed Ford back to Formula 1, noting, “Ford embodies the competitive spirit that drives our team. This partnership connects global brands committed to performance and innovation.”

With the unveiling set to occur just weeks before pre-season testing at the end of January, the event in Detroit promises to be a significant milestone in the 2026 season preparation, highlighting a shared vision for the future of motorsport and technology.
