Arvid Lindblad to Make Formula 1 Debut at British Grand Prix

Red Bull Racing has officially announced that 17-year-old driver Arvid Lindblad will debut in Formula 1 during the opening practice session (FP1) at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. This confirmation follows an initial announcement by Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko prior to the Austrian Grand Prix.

Lindblad, who turns 18 on August 8, received special dispensation from the FIA to obtain his Super License. The governing body emphasized his demonstrated skill and maturity in single-seater racing. He secured the necessary points by winning the FR Oceania title earlier this year and is currently competing in his rookie season of Formula 2, where he is sixth in the standings, trailing championship leader Richard Verschoor by 35 points after a disappointing scoreless weekend in Austria.

In line with regulations, teams must field a rookie for four FP1 sessions each season. Lindblad follows Ayumu Iwasa, who completed one session for Red Bull in Bahrain, and Isack Hadjar, who participated in two races early in the season.

In a parallel development, Paul Aron will also make his race weekend debut at Silverstone, driving for Sauber as part of a driving services agreement, with his second outing scheduled for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
