Monaco, 2025 — In an electrifying qualifying session at the Monaco Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris secured pole position with a historic lap time of 1:09.954, making him the first driver to clock under 70 seconds on this iconic circuit. Norris’s performance was described as a masterclass, having consistently improved throughout the weekend. “I am very happy, especially to do it here in Monaco and to do it ahead of Charles is that little bit sweeter,” said Norris. “I knew if I had a good lap and put things together, I could be on pole,” he added.
