Dutch Grand Prix: Technical Updates and Team Developments
As the Formula 1 season resumes at the Dutch Grand Prix after the summer break, three teams have introduced new technical components. With only ten races remaining in the current car cycle, development options are limited, notably with Red Bull being the sole race-winning team to implement a significant upgrade.
Red Bull’s upgrade consists of a redesigned front wing featuring extended chord front flaps. This modification aims to enhance aerodynamic load at Zandvoort, an environment that necessitates increased flap efficiency. The team emphasized that the unique demands of the track prompted this change.
In addition, Alpine has made incremental adjustments focused on rear brake duct enhancements. The updates include reprofiled winglets intended to improve rear wheel wake management, which is crucial for overall performance.
Sauber, enjoying a commendable streak of six consecutive points finishes, has also prioritized rear brake duct improvements. The adjustments to the rear brake duct vanes are designed to optimize the flow around the car’s rear, particularly affecting interactions with the diffuser and rear wheels.
Currently, no additional teams are bringing updates to Zandvoort, as many shift their focus toward the development of the 2026 model. However, teams are expected to introduce circuit-specific modifications ahead of the next race at Monza, known for its low-drag characteristics.
