Hungarian Grand Prix Update: Limited New Components Ahead of Summer Break

As Formula 1 gears up for the Hungarian Grand Prix, only three teams have introduced new components to their cars, reflecting a strategic pause before the summer hiatus.

With Budapest hosting the second race of a consecutive doubleheader, most teams chose to deploy upgrades at the previous round in Belgium, maximizing the benefits across both races. Notably, the Sprint format at Spa-Francorchamps has permitted continued learning during practice, even for teams that haven’t brought fresh parts to Hungary.

Red Bull has rolled out a new front wing designed specifically for the Hungaroring. The updated wing features a longer chord flap, enhancing local load, and includes an enlarged scoop intake to bolster cooling if necessary.

Aston Martin has also introduced an updated front wing flap, described by the team as an aggressive enhancement. This addition aims to boost downforce in conjunction with a higher-downforce rear wing intended for this event.

Racing Bulls is the third team to unveil new elements, incorporating two significant updates. Adjustments to the front brake drum shape are aimed at improving airflow towards the rear, while a larger cooling louver panel will enhance engine cooling under demanding temperature conditions.

In total, seven teams have opted not to introduce any new components for this race, indicating a broader trend of strategic upgrades prior to the upcoming break. As teams continue to fine-tune their setups, insights gained during practice will prove crucial for the remainder of the season.
