F1 Celebrates 75 Years at Downing Street with Key Industry Leaders
In a notable gathering at 10 Downing Street, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer hosted 150 figures from the world of Formula 1 (F1) to commemorate the series’ 75th anniversary. This event acknowledges the sport’s impact and significance since its inception at Silverstone in 1950.
F1 President Stefano Domenicali is set to address the attendees, highlighting the robust employment sector associated with F1. Notably, nine of the ten current teams have their bases in the UK, with the soon-to-enter Cadillac also establishing operations there. The sport is estimated to generate approximately £12 billion for the UK economy annually.
Starmer’s meeting included prominent figures such as Liberty Media CEO Derek Chang, various past and current drivers, team principals, and F1 Academy CEO Susie Wolff, emphasizing the deep-rooted connection between F1 and the UK.
