Max Verstappen Skips F1 Movie Premiere to be with Newborn Daughter

While most of his fellow competitors attended the premiere of the new Formula 1 film, four-time World Champion Max Verstappen was notably absent. Following a strong second-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix, Verstappen chose to prioritize family, returning home to be with his newborn daughter, Lily.

In a post-race interview, Verstappen confirmed his decision, stating, "I’m going home to my daughter." He indicated that while he may watch the film in the future, he felt no obligation to attend the premiere, emphasizing, "You just shouldn’t force me to go somewhere, because that’s not quite how it should be."

A similar absence occurred during a private screening ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. Verstappen welcomed his daughter with partner Kelly Piquet in early May and reiterated that fatherhood has not hindered his performance. "Clearly, it didn’t make me slower being a dad, so that’s a positive," he asserted, dismissing any doubts about the impact of becoming a parent on his racing career.

Verstappen maintained a balance between family and racing commitments, stating, “It’s been good to be able to spend a few days at home before coming here. When she’s just been born, you want to make sure everything is OK.” He remains in regular contact with Piquet, sharing moments through video calls.

Overall, Verstappen’s strong focus on family life, even amidst a busy racing schedule, exemplifies his commitment both on and off the track as the F1 season progresses.
