Acura and Meyer Shank Racing to Extend Partnership through 2026 IMSA Season

Acura and Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) have solidified their collaboration for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, unveiling plans to field two Acura ARX-06 prototypes: the No. 60 and No. 93 entries. This announcement comes amid an active season for top-tier prototype racing.

Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) will continue to spearhead race engineering and strategy for the No. 93 Acura, driven by Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, who celebrated MSR’s first victory of the year in Detroit. Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun subsequently secured a win at the Six Hours of Watkins Glen in the No. 60 car.

Acura’s partnership with MSR has yielded significant successes, including three IMSA championships—back-to-back GTD titles in 2019-20 and the 2022 DPi championship—as well as consecutive Rolex 24 At Daytona victories in 2022 and 2023. Following a brief hiatus, the partnership was rekindled for the 2025 season.

As it stands, Acura is positioned second in the IMSA GTP manufacturers’ championship ahead of the final two races at Indianapolis and Road Atlanta. In the GTP drivers’ standings, van der Zande and Yelloly are currently fourth, while Blomqvist and Braun sit sixth.

Drivers Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, and Felix Rosenqvist have participated in select races for MSR this season, alongside Japanese Honda factory driver Kakunoshin “Kaku” Ohta, who made his North American racing debut at Daytona.

David Salters, president of HRC US, commented on the ongoing season: “We’ve had two wins so far, we’re fighting for the manufacturers’ championship… I’m looking forward to building on that momentum for next season.”

Co-owner Mike Shank echoed these sentiments, stating, “The merger of the MSR crew and HRC engineering staff has been fun… The Acura and HRC support and partnership is incredible, and we’re ready to chase a championship next year.”

Driver lineups for the 2026 season will be announced in due course.
