Acura Meyer Shank Racing Announces Endurance Driver Lineup for IMSA Season

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) has solidified its endurance driver roster for the upcoming IMSA season, highlighted by the return of AJ Allmendinger, who will again pilot the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 during the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Allmendinger, a past winner of the 24-hour endurance event, rejoins the team after a notable absence, strengthening MSR’s competitive edge.

Allmendinger previously won the Rolex 24 in 2010. He has also secured one third-place finish in 2013 and a second-place in the GTD category in 2018. He expressed his excitement for returning: “Mike Shank is one of the most important people in my life… I feel so fortunate to get another opportunity. The race has always been one of my favorites.”

Driving alongside Allmendinger in the No. 60 Acura will be full-season drivers Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun, along with Scott Dixon. A seasoned veteran, Dixon is set to make his 23rd consecutive Rolex 24 appearance, having previously won the race three times (2006, 2015, 2020). He noted the challenge of adapting to GTP cars but is eager to contribute to the team’s success, adding, “I can’t wait to get him going!”

In the sister No. 93 MSR Acura, reigning IndyCar champion Álex Palou will share the seat with full-time drivers Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly. Palou enters this season with strong momentum after finishing second at last year’s Twelve Hours of Sebring. His return will be critical, given his recent successes, including winning the Indianapolis 500.

Honda factory driver Kakunoshin “Kaku” Ohta will also return for key endurance races, including Daytona and the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, following three starts with MSR last year. Ohta currently competes in the Japanese Super Formula Championship, where he is in contention for the title.

“Having Scott, Alex, and Kaku back for 2026 is exciting,” said Mike Shank, co-owner of Meyer Shank Racing. “They’re all mega pros, and their combined experience will be invaluable in delivering big results for Acura.”

As the series prepares for its endurance tests, MSR aims to leverage this lineup to secure significant podium finishes in the upcoming season.
