Cadillac Racing Solidifies Driver Line-Up for 2026 IMSA Season

Cadillac Racing has confirmed its driver roster for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Endurance Cup, announcing all six full-time IMSA drivers will return for the Cadillac V-Series.R’s fourth season in the GTP class.

Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber will continue with Cadillac Whelen (Action Express Racing) for the full season, joined by Frederik Vesti, who will compete as the team’s Endurance Cup driver for all five long-distance races. Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing retains its strong line-up, featuring Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque in the No. 10 car, while Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz will pilot the No. 40. Will Stevens is set to return for the endurance rounds in the No. 10 Cadillac, with Colton Herta rejoining WTR for Daytona, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans in the No. 40.

Herta, currently signed with Hitech Grand Prix for his inaugural FIA Formula 2 Championship campaign, will also drive the Cadillac V-Series.R for the first time. He expressed enthusiasm about the return, stating, “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Cadillac’s naturally aspirated engine. Daytona can’t come soon enough.”

In 2025, Aitken, Bamber, and Vesti concluded the season with consecutive wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Petit Le Mans, propelling Aitken to second in the GTP drivers’ championship. Aitken highlighted the importance of their driver mix, noting Bamber’s extensive experience benefits both him and Vesti as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Gary Nelson, general manager of Action Express Racing, acknowledged the challenges of 2025 but is optimistic about building on their late-season momentum: “We expect to pick up where we left off, having ended 2025 with wins at the final two events.”

Wayne Taylor, of Wayne Taylor Racing, shared a similar sense of anticipation: “Having the same drivers for the full season brings great continuity to our program. Our team has so much positivity going into 2026, and we are all looking forward to the November test in Daytona.”

Cadillac will introduce an updated version of the V-Series.R during an IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona next month, with anticipated aerodynamic upgrades following last year’s successful Evo “joker” modifications to enhance its electronic package. The changes will be validated at the WindShear wind tunnel ahead of the season.
