Ford Racing Unveils Plans for Mustang GT3 EVO Kit Ahead of 2026 Debut

Ford Racing is developing an EVO kit for its Mustang GT3 platform, set to be released in 2026. Alex Allmandinger, Ford Racing’s global sports car manager, stated, “Whether we are producing cars for the track or for the road, Ford Racing is always striving to exceed our customers’ expectations.” The EVO package aims to enhance the existing platform, demonstrating Ford’s commitment to continued improvement and success in global motorsports.

The Mustang GT3 made its competitive debut at the 2024 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, facing numerous reliability challenges throughout its inaugural season. Key modifications were implemented mid-season, particularly to the deck lid and diffuser, following an “erratum” fix.

In 2025, the Mustang GT3 achieved notable victories, including a decisive win at the Daytona 24 Hours by the factory team run by Multimatic in the IMSA GTD Pro class. Additionally, it delivered a strong performance at the Nürburgring 24 Hour, where Haupt Racing Team secured fourth overall and first in the SP9 Pro/Am category.

Ford’s LMGT3 program with Proton Competition exhibited improvement in 2025, with the No. 88 car finishing second at Spa, surpassing its previous best of third place at Le Mans the prior year. However, performance was hindered by incidents of fire during visits to Bahrain and Qatar.

The Mustang GT3 platform is also represented by Gradient Racing and Dollahite Racing in IMSA and GT World Challenge America, respectively. Ford is poised to release further details and images of the EVO kit in the near future.
