Colton Herta to Race for Cadillac in IMSA Endurance Events
Daytona, FL – Colton Herta, test driver for Cadillac in Formula 1, is set to compete in three endurance races in the 2026 IMSA SportsCar Championship. Herta will drive the #40 Cadillac V-Series.R for Wayne Taylor Racing, sharing the car with full-time drivers Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz in the GTP class.
The events include the prestigious Daytona 24 Hours, the Sebring 12 Hours, and the season-ending Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Herta returns to Wayne Taylor Racing after a successful campaign in 2024, where he achieved victory alongside Taylor and Deletraz in Sebring while driving an Acura ARX-06 LMDh.
Herta expressed enthusiasm about rejoining the team: “Super excited to join Cadillac WTR for the endurance rounds next year. We had some success last time I was with the team, and I hope to continue that. Jordan and Louis are some of the best drivers in the business, and it’s a pleasure to join them on this adventure.”
Wayne Taylor confirmed the positive dynamics of the trio: “We are delighted that Colton can join Jordan and Louis in the #40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R for the endurance events. The trio has been a great match and had great success working together in 2024.”
In related news, Cadillac has finalized its lineup for the 2026 season. Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque will continue in the #10 WTR Cadillac, with Will Stevens joining them for the endurance events. Meanwhile, Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber will pilot the #31 Action Express Racing V-Series.R, with Frederik Vesti as the third driver for the five rounds of the IMSA Endurance Cup.
As preparations ramp up for the upcoming season, Herta’s addition to the Cadillac team marks a significant step in their endurance racing strategy, reinforcing their competitiveness in the IMSA landscape.
