IMSA Unveils Provisional Entry List for 28th Annual Petit Le Mans

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta – The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) has released the provisional entry list for the 28th annual Motul Petit Le Mans, scheduled for October 11. This year’s event features 53 cars across four classes, marking a competitive season finale.

GTP Class Highlights
A total of 12 GTP entries will compete, with all teams expanding their line-ups. Championship leaders Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell will be joined by Julien Andlauer in the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 as they pursue the GTP title. The No. 7 car sees Laurens Vanthoor rejoining past winners Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy.

In a notable turn, Kevin Magnussen and Robin Frijns will race alongside Philipp Eng and Dries Vanthoor in the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8, while Frijns partners with Marco Wittmann and Sheldon van der Linde in the No. 25.

Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing has finalized its driver line-ups; Will Stevens will pilot the No. 10 V-Series.R, while Norman Nato drives the No. 40. Frederik Vesti returns in the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen, fresh off a victory at Indianapolis.

Acura Meyer Shank Racing is set to field Scott Dixon in the No. 60 ARX-06, with newcomer Tristan Vautier joining the No. 93. JDC-Miller will debut the only privately-entered Porsche 963, while the No. 5 Proton Competition Porsche will not compete.

LMP2 and GTD PRO Updates
In the LMP2 category, Alex Quinn replaces Malthe Jakobsen in the No. 04 Crowdstrike by APR ORECA 07-Gibson for this race.

GTD PRO sees a return to 10 cars, welcoming back Michael Christensen to AO Racing in the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Noteworthy drivers in the category include Corvette Racing’s Daniel Juncadella and Ford Multimatic’s Ben Barker.

Changes in GTD and Other Entries
GTD features 19 entries, with Magnus Racing’s No. 44 Aston Martin making its return. Conquest Racing announces Mike Skeen will drive the No. 34 Ferrari alongside Manny Franco and Daniel Serra.

AF Corse’s Cetilar Racing team sees a driver switch, as Roberto Lacorte returns, replacing his son Nicola, and Miguel Molina steps in for Antonio Fuoco. Rory van der Steur will also return in the No. 19 Aston Martin after recovering from injury.

With heightened competition and revised driver rosters, the Petit Le Mans promises an exhilarating finish to the IMSA season at Road Atlanta.
