Koch Parts Ways with Team Korthoff Ahead of IMSA Finale

Kenton Koch and Team Korthoff have mutually decided to part ways with four rounds remaining in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Koch announced the split via social media, emphasizing the amicable nature of the decision: "There’s absolutely no hard feelings… the circumstances… were really no one’s fault."

Koch, alongside co-drivers Daniel Morad and Mikey Taylor, secured a podium finish, taking third in GTD at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in June. This race marked Koch’s final output in the No. 32 Mercedes-AMG GT3, which was absent at the subsequent Canadian Tire Motorsports Park event.

Reflecting on his time with the team, Koch praised the team’s dedication: "Watkins was a perfect example of the men and women that make the team phenomenal… couldn’t be more proud to have been a small part of it."

Initially joining Korthoff as a Michelin Endurance Cup driver in 2023, Koch transitioned to a full-time role in 2024, contributing to the team’s first IMSA WeatherTech series win at VIRginia International Raceway.

Expressing gratitude, Koch stated, "I’m thankful to have been a part of this journey… What [a] treat it has been, and I look forward to seeing those guys in the paddock."

Currently, Koch leads the GT World Challenge America Pro and GT4 America Silver championships for Random Vandals Racing. He made a debut with Triarsi Competizione at the recent IMSA round in CTMP, finishing seventh in his inaugural race for the Ferrari customer team, following Team Korthoff’s decision to sit out the event.

RACER.com has reached out to Team Korthoff for comments regarding the team’s future, especially following the absence at CTMP and the departure of co-driver Seth Lucas prior to Watkins Glen.
