Triarsi Competizione and Sheena Monk Part Ways Ahead of Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen

Triarsi Competizione has announced the mutual termination of its contract with driver Sheena Monk and sponsor JG Wentworth prior to this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. The Orlando-based Ferrari customer team noted that the decision arose from "thoughtful discussions" reflecting each party’s shifting goals and priorities.

Team Principal Onofrio Triarsi expressed gratitude, stating, "We are grateful for Sheena and Randy Parker’s presence in our WeatherTech SportsCar Championship program. We’ve shared valuable experiences together on and off the track, and we wish them all the best in whatever lies ahead."

The team is also undergoing further changes, with drivers Stevan McAleer and Mike Skeen departing. In their place, the No. 021 Ferrari 296 GT3 will feature new drivers for Watkins Glen: two-time IMSA GTD champion Alessandro Balzan, AJ Muss—making his IMSA WeatherTech Series debut after clinching the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro-Am title—and Jason Hart, returning to IMSA since the 2023 Rolex 24 At Daytona and holding the title of reigning 24H Series GT3 champion.

In her announcement on social media, Monk expressed disappointment about the season’s challenges following her transition from Gradient Racing to Triarsi. "Disqualified for drive time at Daytona, a gearbox failure at Sebring, a wastegate failure off the truck in Long Beach, and an unsafe release during the race in Laguna," she reiterated the difficulties faced.

While acknowledging her appreciation for the Ferrari 296 GT3’s capabilities, Monk stated, "Accomplishing anything in this sport requires a highly functioning nucleus beyond the drivers and car." She remains uncertain about her future in the current season, as her entry is being transitioned to another team.

Monk concluded with a reflection on pursuing passions in motorsport, emphasizing the need for camaraderie and fulfillment: "When none of that exists, it’s time to seek another route."
