Müller Rejoins JDC-Miller for IMSA Championship Finale
Indianapolis, IN – Porsche factory driver Nico Müller will return to JDC-Miller MotorSports’ No. 85 ‘Banana Boat’ Porsche 963 for the concluding rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Müller will partner with team regulars Tijmen van der Helm and Gianmaria Bruni at the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Müller made his debut with JDC-Miller at the Twelve Hours of Sebring, where the team achieved an eighth-place finish in the GTP class. He has since gained additional experience in the Porsche 963, participating in the WEC 6 Hours of Spa and serving as the reserve driver for Porsche at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
“I am very excited to be back with JDC-Miller MotorSports after our race together earlier this season at Sebring,” Müller stated. “We demonstrated good pace and great potential during the 12-Hour event. I’m looking forward to building on that performance straight away.”
John Church, Managing Partner at JDC-Miller, expressed enthusiasm for Müller’s return: “He was a great fit with the team at Sebring, getting up to speed with the 963 quickly, which is no easy task. We believe he will provide the extra pace we are looking for. Our goal is to improve upon last year’s third-place finish at Indianapolis.”
The Minnesota-based team is also exploring the expansion to two GTP entries, pending the right financial and driver arrangements. Church confirmed aspirations for the second Porsche 963 to race in 2026, aiming to secure a competitive driver lineup, ideally featuring individuals with prior 963 experience.
“The number one thing is the business side of it and getting that sorted out first,” Church stated. “We’ll be looking for drivers who can effectively transition into this different car.”
This strategic driver acquisition and development approach underscores JDC-Miller’s commitment to enhancing their competitive standing as they wrap up the season.
