Pfaff Motorsports to Launch Lamborghini Temerario GT3 at November IMSA Test
Pfaff Motorsports has confirmed plans to debut the highly anticipated Lamborghini Temerario GT3 during the IMSA Sanctioned Test at Daytona in November. The announcement was made by General Manager Steve Bortolotti, who emphasized the significance of the upcoming test, stating, “We’ll be conducting the November sanctioned test with the car at Daytona. After that, we’ll be conducting the Sebring endurance test, and the plan is to debut it at Sebring in GTD PRO.”
This marks a notable turnaround for the Canadian team, which faced an uncertain future just a year ago, following a one-year partnership with McLaren. With Lamborghini’s support for the 2025 season, Pfaff is optimistic about their prospects. Bortolotti reflected, “It was a very difficult place that we were in… but looking ahead, it’s been a blessing in disguise.”
Before the Temerario GT3’s competitive entry in the 2026 Rolex 24 At Daytona, the team’s current No. 9 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 will participate in next year’s endurance classic. Bortolotti aims to leverage the test sessions to refine the car’s performance and reliability. “The goal is to really understand the car and develop it from a reliability standpoint,” he stated.
James Hinchcliffe, former NTT INDYCAR Series driver, has been confirmed as part of the lineup for the 2026 Rolex 24. He will not participate in the Sebring or Atlanta races, focusing instead on Daytona. The remaining driver roster is under discussion with Lamborghini and is expected to be finalized by the November test.
Despite a challenging 2025 season that yielded only a podium in Detroit, Pfaff Motorsports aims to return to competitive form. Bortolotti expressed determination: “I want to get back to contending for podiums on a regular basis and winning when the cards fall our way.”
The upcoming tests are seen as critical for setting a solid foundation ahead of the 2026 racing season.
