Campbell and Jaminet Clinch GTP Championship at Petit Le Mans

Road Atlanta, GA – Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet, competing for Porsche Penske Motorsport, secured their second championship together by clinching the IMSA GTP title at the Petit Le Mans. Despite finishing third in the race, their consistent performance throughout the season enabled them to secure the crown.

The duo, affectionately known as “CamJam,” has been a formidable partnership since 2019, previously winning the IMSA GTD PRO Championship. Campbell reflected on their journey: “Two years in IMSA, and two championships – it’s a very special partnership.” This year’s title adds to the depth of their shared accomplishments in Porsche motorsport.

The Petit Le Mans race featured unexpected challenges for the team, including a late arrival at the track and the absence of teammate Julien Andlauer, who was sidelined due to back pain. Fortunately, Laurens Vanthoor stepped in as a third driver, ensuring the team’s competitiveness. Jaminet noted, “’Larry’ did great… saved our ass.”

Porsche’s strategies and consistent scoring were critical in the face of a challenging competitive landscape, particularly after a Balance of Performance adjustment earlier in the season that benefited rival manufacturers Acura and Cadillac. Campbell marked the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca win as a pivotal moment, stating, “It was after Laguna where it really started to look like something was maybe going to be possible.” Despite winning only once this year, their regular podium finishes were sufficient to defend Porsche’s manufacturers’ championship.

However, uncertainty looms for the duo’s future together, as Porsche Penske Motorsport is set to utilize only four full-time drivers next season, potentially displacing one or both of them. “What happens after this weekend is obviously a little bit out of our control,” Campbell admitted. Meanwhile, Jaminet added humorously, “I might miss him… maybe not. But let’s see.”

With plans to reveal the 2026 factory driver lineup in the coming weeks, the fates of Campbell and Jaminet hang in the balance, potentially marking the end of a successful chapter in Porsche’s racing history.
