Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Set for 2026
The 2026 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is officially scheduled for February 27 to March 1, marking the season opener for IndyCar. This decision was ratified by the St. Petersburg City Council on Thursday, ensuring continuity with the successful 2025 event, which saw record attendance over its three days.
Kim Green, co-promoter of the event, highlighted the logistical planning involved: “After consulting with the City of St. Petersburg staff and multiple stakeholders, IndyCar and our Green Savoree Racing Promotions teams agree continuing this great downtown tradition on similar dates is optimal.”
In addition to the St. Petersburg event, IndyCar has confirmed the inaugural Grand Prix of Arlington in Texas, scheduled for March 13-15, 2026. The early-season calendar also includes the 51st running of the Grand Prix Long Beach, set for April 17-19.
This structured approach to scheduling aims to build on the momentum of recent races, setting the stage for an exciting IndyCar season ahead.
