Nashville Superspeedway Final Practice Session: Dixon Sets the Pace
Scott Dixon demonstrated commanding speed during the final practice session at Nashville Superspeedway, clocking a top lap of 198.759 mph in the No. 9 Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing. Dixon’s performance outpaced Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden, who recorded a competitive 198.466 mph in the No. 2 Chevy, and Meyer Shank Racing’s Marcus Armstrong, who posted a 198.428 mph in the No. 66 Honda.
Completing the top five were AJ Foyt Racing’s David Malukas in the No. 4 Chevy at 198.234 mph, followed by Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in the No. 27 Honda at 197.716 mph, and Foyt’s Santino Ferrucci, who managed 197.676 mph in the No. 14 Chevy.
The 60-minute session saw multiple incidents, including Nolan Siegel’s crash in the No. 6 Arrow McLaren Chevy, which resulted in damage to the right-rear suspension. Callum Ilott and Will Power also experienced wall contact, but all drivers were uninjured and the damage was repairable ahead of the 225-lap race scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
