Ed Carpenter Racing Triumphs at Milwaukee Mile, Signaling a Resurgence

Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR) achieved a notable victory at the Milwaukee Mile, marking a significant turnaround in its performance. The team, previously victorious multiple times with Josef Newgarden in 2016 and Rinus VeeKay in 2021, has restructured its operations during the offseason, resulting in a competitive resurgence.

New co-owner and chairman Ted Gelov has infused fresh funding and strategic insights into the team. A key move was the addition of veteran driver Alexander Rossi, partnering with sophomore standout Christian Rasmussen, who secured the win in the No. 21 Chevrolet.

“This victory has been a long time coming,” said ECR team president Tim Broyles. “We’ve made substantial changes this year and welcomed new partners. It’s rewarding to see our hard work pay off.”

With this win, ECR becomes the fifth team to claim victory this season, joining the ranks of Chip Ganassi Racing, Andretti Global, Arrow McLaren, and Team Penske. Rasmussen’s performance not only marks his first career IndieCar win but also sets a benchmark for the team’s potential moving forward.

Rossi’s fourth-place finish, his best result of the season, underlines the team’s competitive revival. “This success reflects the dedication of our engineers and the entire team,” Broyles added. “We’re committed to growth and plan to achieve more of this in the future.”

ECR’s performance at Milwaukee confirms its readiness to challenge the series’ top teams and signals a promising season ahead.
