Felix Rosenqvist Aims High as IndyCar Season Progresses
Birmingham, AL – As the 2025 IndyCar season gathers momentum, Felix Rosenqvist of Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) remains a steadfast contender, having notched three top-seven finishes in the opening races. Currently ranked fourth in the standings, Rosenqvist’s performance is bolstered by his first two years in the No. 60 Honda, showing a marked consistency that he aims to build upon.
Heading into this weekend’s Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park, Rosenqvist is optimistic about MSR’s renewed technical alliance with Chip Ganassi Racing, following a less fruitful partnership with Andretti Global. "We’re not in a hurry for a big result," he stated. "We just want to keep improving and let the results come to us."
Reflecting on his near podium finish at Long Beach, where a fuel reading error hindered his bid, Rosenqvist expressed confidence in his team’s capabilities. "Our approach is to keep knocking on the door. If you qualify well and maintain race pace, it’s going to come," he noted.
Preparing for a Challenging Track
Rosenqvist’s focus now shifts to Barber, a circuit known for its unpredictability. "It’s one of those tracks where you never really know what you’ll get," he remarked. He has previously shown promise here, finishing fourth after starting fifth in 2024. As he prepares for his 100th IndyCar start, the 33-year-old acknowledges his evolving role as a team leader and decision-maker.
"Joining Shank felt like a natural progression," he explained. "I’m more confident now in making crucial decisions during races, informed by my past experiences."
As the IndyCar field prepares for its next challenge, Rosenqvist’s blend of consistency, experience, and team collaboration positions him and MSR as notable contenders in this highly competitive season. With a clear focus on continuous improvement, Rosenqvist aims to translate his solid start into podium finishes—and possibly a race win—at Barber Motorsports Park.
