Dennis Hauger Poised for 2026 IndyCar Debut

Milwaukee, WI – Dennis Hauger is on track to join the IndyCar Series in 2026, building a formidable resume during his rookie season in Indy NXT, where he has already secured seven poles and six wins in 12 races with Andretti Global.

The 22-year-old Norwegian, a veteran of Formula 2, has effectively utilized his time in Indy NXT to familiarize himself with both the technical challenges of American racing and the unique characteristics of various circuits. Hauger stated, "This feeder series has helped me a lot to be familiarized with the tracks. The learning curve is steep, but I feel as ready as I can be to move up."

Hauger’s development has been bolstered by Andretti’s robust educational program, which exposes him to both on-track strategies during IndyCar sessions and insights from established drivers like Colton Herta and Kyle Kirkwood. "It’s been awesome and really helpful," Hauger remarked, highlighting the mentorship and resources available, including time on the timing stands.

As he navigates a competitive landscape where many IndyCar seats are secured for multiple seasons, Hauger remains optimistic. Unlike some contenders, he lacks substantial sponsorship but is focused on demonstrating his talent in hopes of receiving a merit-based contract. "The opportunities out there give you a bit of an edge to keep going," he noted, underscoring his commitment to excellence.

Hauger can secure the Indy NXT championship this weekend in Milwaukee, a crucial step in cementing his position for a future in IndyCar. With discussions ongoing, he remains eager to showcase his skills and solidify his path to the top tier of open-wheel racing.
