Honda Secures 2025 IndyCar Manufacturers’ Championship Amidst Dominant Season
Indianapolis, IN – Honda Performance Development has clinched the 2025 IndyCar Manufacturers’ Championship, achieving a remarkable 12 victories out of the first 15 races, marking a significant turnaround from Chevrolet’s three consecutive titles (2022-2024).
Honda’s success can be largely attributed to extensive offseason improvements, enabling a stunning streak of ten consecutive wins at the season’s outset. The winning run commenced at the St. Petersburg Grand Prix, led by Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou, and featured critical victories including Kyle Kirkwood at the Acura-sponsored Long Beach Grand Prix and Palou’s triumph at the prestigious Indianapolis 500. The streak culminated with Scott Dixon’s victory at Road America.
Palou’s dominance played a pivotal role in Honda’s championship achievement. After securing the drivers’ title in Portland, he expressed gratitude towards his team, stating, “We just won the championship! I can’t thank this No. 10 team… enough. I also can’t thank Honda enough — congratulations to everyone at Honda and HRC on wrapping up the manufacturers’ championship as well.”
HRC US president David Salters praised the entire organization, saying, “What an amazing season… stunning and record-setting in so many ways.” He emphasized Palou’s exceptional talent and the successful partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing, looking forward to further races and plans for 2026.
As the season progresses, Honda and its drivers remain focused on maintaining their momentum in the remaining races, underscoring a strong foundation for future competitiveness in IndyCar.
