Juncos Hollinger Racing Seeks Technical Alliance Beyond IndyCar

Speedway, Indiana – Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) is actively pursuing a unique technical alliance to bolster its competitiveness in the IndyCar Series, diverging from traditional team-to-team partnerships seen in the paddock.

While teams like Meyer Shank Racing and AJ Foyt Racing have established collaborations with major players—Meyer Shank with Chip Ganassi Racing for race engineering support and Foyt with Team Penske, which includes sponsorship backing and driver transfers—JHR is exploring frameworks with Formula 1 teams.

Co-owner Brad Hollinger, previously a co-owner at Williams F1, aims to leverage his F1 connections to enhance JHR’s performance. "Because of the cost cap in Formula 1, there certainly is an opportunity to create a relationship with one of the F1 teams for a collaboration of technology, including sending over younger mechanics and engineers,” Hollinger noted in an interview with RACER.

Hollinger’s vision involves utilizing the talent and advanced engineering resources from F1 to refine JHR’s operations, especially ahead of the new IndyCar chassis debut in 2028. Current IndyCar vehicles like the Dallara DW12 could benefit significantly from insights in areas like tire modeling, damping, and simulation tools.

“Dave (O’Neill) and I have discussed the possibilities, given his strong relationships in F1. While I am not suggesting there has been direct interest from those teams, it’s something we’re exploring," Hollinger added.

As JHR continues to seek innovative partnerships, its focus remains on enhancing its competitive standing and building a bridge between IndyCar and Formula 1 development practices.
