Christian Lundgaard Continues to Shine on Oval Tracks
Christian Lundgaard has demonstrated significant growth as an oval racer, showcasing his talent at an impressive pace. Driving for Arrow McLaren, the Danish driver secured a seventh-place finish at the Indianapolis 500 in May. Following that, he achieved sixth-place results at both the final race at Iowa Speedway and the recent event at Milwaukee.
At the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix in Nashville, Lundgaard reached a career milestone by qualifying third, marking his best performance yet in oval qualifying. “I’d say we improved a lot,” Lundgaard stated, reflecting on his progress. “I think the past two races – Milwaukee and here so far – we’re taking a step forward, which is laying the foundation for 2026.”
During the race at Milwaukee, Lundgaard showcased his skill by advancing from 17th to sixth. “After practice, I thought we were really strong on race pace. The car was good, and honestly, I think we could have finished on the podium,” he remarked after the race, highlighting his confidence and the potential for future success.
As Lundgaard’s experience on oval tracks grows, the outlook for the remainder of the season appears promising.
