Arrow McLaren Withdraws Nolan Siegel from Iowa Race After Crash

In a significant development during the Synk 275 IndyCar Series at Iowa Speedway, Arrow McLaren has withdrawn the No. 6 Chevrolet of Nolan Siegel following a severe crash on lap 248. The decision comes after Siegel failed to receive medical clearance from the IndyCar Medical Team.

Siegel was set to start the race in a promising fifth position. However, his hard rear-impact collision not only damaged his vehicle but also punctured a hole in the SAFER barrier, necessitating a red flag for repairs.

"I’d rather be out there driving today, especially from P5, one of my best starting positions of the season," Siegel stated. "I’m in good hands with the IndyCar Medical Team and thank them for their care. Most importantly, I feel for the crew. They provided a competitive car and worked hard last night with the hope of racing today. They deserve to compete for the podium."

Arrow McLaren’s team principal expressed empathy for Siegel’s situation. “I know how Nolan feels not racing today. It’s the worst feeling in the world. The most important thing, though, is that he’s fit to race, and unfortunately, that’s not the case today," he remarked.

The team opted not to substitute drivers for this event, citing concerns about unnecessary stress and disruption with another race scheduled in Toronto in just one week. They will reassess Siegel’s condition to formulate a contingency plan if he remains unfit to compete in the upcoming race.
