IndyCar Series: Kyffin Simpson Continues Impressive Progress with Top-10 Qualifying Performances
IndyCar Series sophomore Kyffin Simpson achieved his second consecutive top-10 qualifying result, placing 10th for the Sonsio Grand Prix at Indianapolis. The 20-year-old driver from the Cayman Islands secured his position by placing his No. 8 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda between competitors Alexander Rossi and Santino Ferrucci.
Simpson’s performance follows a notable showing at Barber Motorsports Park, where he also reached the Firestone Fast 12 for the second time in his young career. His weekend results coincide with teammate Alex Palou’s repeated success, having captured pole position for both events. Notably, Simpson out-qualified veteran teammate Scott Dixon, who will start from 16th.
Despite his growing success, Simpson remains focused on improvement. "We really felt like we had the pace to make it into the Fast Six," he commented. "Just need to work on putting the lap together a little bit better for next time. It’s another great opportunity from a good starting spot.”
As Simpson continues to demonstrate potential on a national stage, his consistent performances may elevate his recognition in the competitive IndyCar landscape.
