ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS: PLESSINGER STRUGGLES AFTER HEAT RACE CRASH
Anaheim, CA – In a challenging evening at the second round of the Anaheim Supercross, Aaron Plessinger faced a tough night following a significant crash in the heat race. Speaking to NBC’s Jason Thomas post-crash, Plessinger confirmed he was uninjured, despite the handlebars of his bike being misaligned after the incident.
During the main event, Plessinger initially showcased resilience, climbing to fifth place within the first two laps. However, on lap 14, he exited the race after struggling with fatigue from the prior crash, completing only 13 laps and finishing in 22nd position.
Reflecting on the race, Plessinger stated, “I felt pretty good today, coming off having the flu for a couple of weeks… I hit something and was sent flying off the face of the jump… I just had to salvage what spots I could. I will regroup this week… and hopefully have a better race in Houston next weekend.”
Plessinger’s teammates also had noteworthy performances, with Eli Tomac securing third place and Jorge Prado finishing seventh. Prado expressed satisfaction with his race, stating, “Anaheim 2 was a positive night… I got cut off at the start of the Main Event and had to work through the pack… I’m very happy with my bike; I think today was the best the bike has felt across the three rounds.”
As the Supercross series heads to Houston, teams will focus on recovery and adjustments to improve their standings in the upcoming events.
