Smith Achieves Milestone for Triumph Racing at Birmingham SX
Birmingham, AL – Jordon Smith secured a significant achievement for both himself and Triumph Racing, marking the team’s first top-ten finish in the 450SX class at the Birmingham Supercross. Smith initially crossed the line in tenth place but was elevated to ninth following a penalty assessed to Garrett Marchbanks.
This finish is a positive progression for the North Carolina native, who is transitioning from 250SX to the more challenging 450SX class after recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. In his first four races this season, Smith’s results have improved steadily: 19th, 17th, 11th, and now 9th.
At the Indianapolis Supercross prior to Birmingham, Smith finished eighth in the third sprint race, improving his overall standing but ultimately finishing 11th.
In a post-race statement, Smith noted, “We took another step in the right direction tonight. We have gotten better each week across the last four races, so we will try to maintain that momentum.” He expressed optimism about his performance in future races as he continues to find his rhythm in the main events.
Triumph Racing America’s General Manager, Jeremy Coker, echoed this sentiment. “Jordon had a great day and secured our first top ten in the 450SX class, which is a great step forward for us as a team, Triumph, and also Jordon,” he stated.
Smith’s drive symbolizes Triumph Racing’s commitment to growth and performance in the competitive landscape of professional motocross.
