Cameron McAdoo Provides Injury Recovery Update
Cameron McAdoo has issued a recovery update via Instagram, revealing significant progress following his knee surgery. The Iowa native confirmed that, while his recovery is “going well,” he is not expected to return to racing until he receives medical clearance in a couple of months, sidelining him for the remainder of the 2023 SuperMotocross World Championship. McAdoo currently sits 48th in the 250SMX standings, far from qualifying for the LCQ, with more than half of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship left.
McAdoo suffered a torn ACL shortly before the 250SX East Division commenced in February. Despite the injury, he managed to secure a third-place finish at the Tampa SX opener. However, a crash in Detroit required medical attention and ultimately led to a more severe knee issue during the Daytona SX, forcing him to withdraw and undergo surgery.
“Other than that, I think I’m okay,” he stated after the Detroit incident, which initially seemed to avoid major complications. With this being McAdoo’s second ACL surgery, he acknowledged the extended recovery period.
While McAdoo has been out, his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team remains competitive, featuring riders such as Levi Kitchen and Garrett Marchbanks in the ongoing Pro Motocross series. McAdoo expressed his eagerness to return, stating, “I miss being on the bike and getting to race on the weekends more than anything right now.”
As he focuses on recovery, McAdoo remains committed to his rehabilitation while supporting his team from the sidelines.
