Bennick Shows Resilience in 250SX Main Event with Impressive Comeback
In a thrilling 250SX main event, rider #58, Bennick, showcased remarkable skill and determination, ultimately gaining 18 positions to finish in second place. After a challenging start where he initially crossed the holeshot line in 20th, Bennick quickly overcame adversity, moving into seventh by the end of the opening lap.
Following a red flag, the race resumed with a staggered restart. Bennick capitalized on his momentum, executing a double-double maneuver in the rhythm section to overtake Derek Kelley for second place. Despite late pressure from Hammaker—who was battling to keep his title hopes alive—Bennick secured his position after Hammaker’s fall.
Reflecting on his performance, Bennick expressed satisfaction, stating, “I feel like I’ve been riding good with the dry conditions, so the wet was almost a question mark because I haven’t had a lot of experience in the mud, but I feel like I rode really, really good tonight.”
This result solidifies Bennick’s competitive edge as the season approaches its finale in Utah.
