Walker Dominates in Reno: Secures Historic Sweep and Gains Ground in Championship Race
Reno, NV – In a dazzling display of speed and strategy, Triumph rider Jonny Walker achieved a historic sweep at the latest round of the 2025 season, finishing first in all three motos. Walker not only showcased his raw pace but also demonstrated an improved execution that has been his Achilles’ heel in previous races.
Qualifying Results: Walker set the fastest qualifying time at 59.118 seconds, the only rider to break the one-minute barrier. His closest competitor, Travis Hart, qualified second at 1:00.509, followed by Colton Haaker at 1:00.950.
During the first moto, Hart secured the holeshot but was soon overtaken by Walker, who employed a rapid pace to establish a gap. Hart attempted to respond but made a costly mistake, allowing Haaker to momentarily take second. Ultimately, Walker finished the moto strong, crossing the line first, with Hart and Haaker finishing second and third, respectively.
The second moto featured an inverted start, which allowed Nick Thompson to take an early lead. However, Walker and Hart quickly made their way through the pack, both executing simultaneous passes on Thompson. Walker would go on to claim victory again, solidifying his lead in the championship.
In the final moto, Walker’s aggressive mindset allowed him to nail the holeshot once again. Despite Hart’s efforts to close the gap, a mistake caused Hart to lose his position to Ryder Leblond, who capitalized on the opportunity to secure a second-place finish. Walker claimed the moto, marking his first 1-1-1 performance of the season.
Walker’s consistent performance has narrowed the championship race. Hart’s lead has shrunk to just three points (119-116), intensifying the competition moving into the final round. Hart expressed a candid assessment of his performance, stating, “I had nothing to give…kind of a bummer, but still all good.”
Leblond’s impressive return to the podium—finishing third overall (6-3-2)—marked an emotional rebound after a disappointing showing in Redmond. “I’d be back on the box… so, yeah,” he remarked, reflecting his satisfaction in regaining form.
With both Hart and Walker poised for a dramatic showdown in the upcoming final round, the championship battle has never been more thrilling. The next race promises high stakes as momentum shifts firmly in favor of Jonny Walker.
