Honda HRC Progressive Concludes Successful Season Ahead of Motocross of Nations
The 2023 motorsports season for Honda HRC Progressive culminated in a triumphant finale, securing championships in both the 450 and 250 classes. Brandon Wilson, Manager of Racing & Advertising at American Honda, expressed his pride in the team’s performance: “For the past few years, it has been gratifying to have Honda where it belongs—fighting at the front and winning championships in both classes.”
As the regular season wraps up, Honda HRC Progressive will support several riders competing at the Motocross of Nations in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on October 5, including Team Australia’s Lawrence brothers and Team Japan’s Shimoda.
In a heartfelt post-race reflection, Jett Lawrence acknowledged the emotional rollercoaster of the final race, stating, “Honestly, midway through, I thought it was over… Thankfully, it paid off.” He praised his brother Hunter’s performance, noting that Hunter’s illness likely altered the outcome.
Hunter Lawrence, after securing a victory in the final moto, remarked, “It was a bittersweet night. I probably could’ve been a little better in the first one… Still, it was a great night overall for the team, winning both championships.”
Shimoda, the first Japanese rider to clinch a championship, emphasized the significance of the achievement, saying, “Accomplishing something so important gives me a huge confidence boost.”
Team Manager Jonathan Beasley reflected on the challenges of the weekend: “I don’t think I’ve ever been more relieved to have the weekend over! I’m so proud of Jo for dealing with the crazy pressure… Jett being Jett though, he performed miracles when they needed to be performed.”
The Honda HRC Progressive team moves forward with momentum, poised for international competition at the upcoming Motocross of Nations.
