Race Day Report: Monster Energy AMA Supercross, San Diego
San Diego, CA – The second round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series took place today in San Diego, following Eli Tomac’s victory at the season opener in Anaheim. The event continued to highlight emerging narratives within the field, including rookie Jorge Prado’s podium finish with Red Bull KTM and Chase Sexton’s struggles.
Injury Updates
Notably, Malcolm Stewart returns to competition after sustaining a dislocated shoulder last week, having been involved in an incident with Justin Barcia during the 450SX main event. Conversely, Garrett Marchbanks will not compete today due to a practice injury. Hunter Yoder races despite a partially torn ACL, impressively leading a heat race last week and finishing eighth in the main.

Track Conditions
The San Diego circuit features a lengthy start, a 180-degree right turn leading into short rhythm sections, and an over/under bridge, providing a challenging layout for racers. Current track conditions show a wet, sticky dirt surface, which is expected to dry as temperatures rise into the mid-70s throughout the race day.
