FIM Gala and Supercross Championship Update
Lausanne, Switzerland – As the FIM gathers for its annual Gala, spotlighting world champions across various disciplines, the motocross community is abuzz with anticipation. Key figures such as MXGP Champions Romain Febvre, Simon Langenfelder, and Lotte Van Drunen are set to attend, celebrating their recent successes including titles from the Mini O’s.
However, one significant title remains undecided: the FIM World Supercross Champion. As the other champions toast their achievements, the World Supercross (WSX) series is in Stockholm, Sweden for its fourth round of the five-event championship. This follows a notable Gold Coast race where competitors battled in more temperate conditions.
Notably absent from the Swedish round is current points leader Ken Roczen, who has opted to return to Florida after clinching victory in Australia. While Roczen leads the standings with 122 points, competitors Christian Craig (95 points) and Joey Savatgy (83 points) are poised to take advantage of his absence. Jason Anderson trails closely with 77 points. The points chase intensifies, especially as Roczen transitions away from WSX participation to focus on the upcoming Anaheim event in 2026.
Roczen’s absence from the Stockholm race now alters the dynamics as he is classified as a wild card, paving the way for his replacement, Colt Nichols. The Pipes Motorsports Suzuki team aims to close the gap to the Quad Lock Honda squad in the team standings.
As the WSX series progresses, more updates will follow detailing the results from Sweden and the implications for the overall standings.
