Monster Energy AMA Supercross 2026 Season Preview
The 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, part of the Monster Energy SMX World Championship™ series, is set to kick off in January at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, featuring a robust 17-round season across 16 cities in 13 states. This year marks a significant return for the series, with the addition of Cleveland, Ohio, as a venue after more than three decades, joining established stops in Houston, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee.
The season promises intense competition in the 450SMX Class, featuring five past champions: Jason Anderson, Eli Tomac, Chase Sexton, defending Supercross champion Cooper Webb, and reigning SMX World Champion Jett Lawrence from Australia. They will be joined by formidable challengers including Hunter Lawrence (Australia), Ken Roczen (Germany), Dylan Ferrandis (France), and former champions Justin Cooper, Aaron Plessinger, Malcolm Stewart, and Justin Barcia.
In the 250SMX Class, defending Western Division Champion Haiden Deegan will return alongside runner-ups Seth Hammaker and Julien Beaumer. Jo Shimoda, the current SMX World Champion, is also vying for his inaugural Supercross and Pro Motocross titles. Other contenders include Cole Davies, Cameron McAdoo, Levi Kitchen, Austin Forkner, Max Anstie (UK), Chance Hymas, and Nate Thrasher, all eager for championship glory.
The season culminates in May at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, promising a thrilling conclusion to what is expected to be one of the most competitive seasons in Supercross history.
