Michael Mosiman Departs Star Racing Yamaha Ahead of 2027 Season
Michael Mosiman has announced his departure from Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, concluding a three-year tenure marked by notable achievements and challenges. In the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, Mosiman secured two podium finishes and four top-five results, ultimately finishing eighth in the 250SX West Division standings. His season was cut short due to injury, but he rebounded in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, achieving four top-ten finishes and concluding the 250 Class championship in ninth.
His 2026 SMX season was abruptly halted following a broken collarbone sustained during practice at the SMX Playoffs in Ohio. Over his time with Yamaha, Mosiman accumulated four podiums—three in 250SX and one in 250 Pro Motocross—with 22 total top-ten finishes across both disciplines.
In a recent YouTube announcement, Mosiman expressed gratitude toward the Star Racing Yamaha team for their support and recalled pivotal moments of his career. “This was not an easy decision… I will continue to cherish our time together for a lifetime, but it’s on to new beginnings in 2027,” Mosiman stated.
For the upcoming season, he will carry the national number #29, a number he previously raced in 2022 when he clinched his first 250SX win. Although Mosiman did not divulge details about his new team or bike for 2027, he confirmed his commitment to continue competing in the sport.
Fans and observers are advised to stay tuned for updates regarding his next career move.
