David Starr Returns to NASCAR Cup Series with Garage 66 at Atlanta Motor Speedway

Atlanta, GA – Garage 66, the rebranded MBM Motorsports, will field the No. 66 Ford at the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, highlighting a notable entry in the competitive field. This marks the team’s sixth start of the season, showcasing their commitment despite being a non-chartered entry.

Veteran driver David Starr will take the wheel, making his first Cup Series appearance of 2023. At 57 years old, Starr brings a wealth of experience, including 18 career Cup starts and a remarkable record of 268 NASCAR Xfinity Series and 317 Truck Series races. His previous Cup Series best came in 2021 at Texas, where he finished 23rd.

Starr expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming race: “EchoPark Speedway is one of the most exciting tracks on the schedule, and I’m thrilled to compete here with such an incredible group of partners. The No. 66 looks amazing, and we’re ready to go full throttle on race day.”

Garage 66 has utilized several drivers this year, including Josh Bilicki and Casey Mears, with Bilicki achieving the team’s best finish of 33rd at the Coca-Cola 600. The Atlanta race represents an opportunity for the team to improve on previous performances as they aim to solidify their position in the series.

The effort is supported by WNB Factory Wings N Burgers, Roofing Georgia/NGE Decks, Coble Enterprises, and Carter’s Royal Dispos-all. As the team prepares for the race, all eyes will be on Starr as he aims for a strong showing on familiar territory.
