EchoPark Speedway: A New Era at Atlanta Motor Speedway
The Atlanta Motor Speedway, a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series since 1960, will officially rebrand as EchoPark Speedway this summer. This change comes as part of a seven-year sponsorship agreement valued at multiple millions, with the venue’s signage already updated to reflect its new name.
EchoPark Automotive, a division of Sonic Automotive led by David Smith, specializes in pre-owned vehicle sales. Smith articulated the strategic intent behind the partnership, stating, "This allows us to share the value of the exceptional EchoPark car-buying experience with more guests who enjoy the excitement of NASCAR racing at this iconic venue."
EchoPark Speedway will host two NASCAR Cup races annually, with the first event set for June 28 as the inaugural race of TNT’s NASCAR broadcast schedule. This race will also kick off a $1 million in-season tournament, with the winner receiving an EchoPark-provided Chevy Silverado and a limited-edition Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Marcus Smith, CEO of Speedway Motorsports, emphasized the collaboration’s potential, stating, “We’re thrilled to partner with an innovative, customer-focused company like EchoPark Automotive. Together, we’ll elevate our fan experience to a new level unmatched for Southern hospitality.”
This renaming aligns EchoPark Speedway with other notable rebranded NASCAR venues, including Charlotte Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway, showcasing a trend where sponsorship drives track identity.
As the NASCAR Cup Series continues to evolve, EchoPark Speedway stands poised to enhance both the racing experience and community engagement in the Atlanta region.
