Chastain Makes History with Iconic Coca-Cola 600 Win

Charlotte Motor Speedway, NC — In a historic performance, Ross Chastain defied the odds by driving from last to first to secure victory in the Coca-Cola 600, marking a groundbreaking achievement in NASCAR history. This win, Chastain’s sixth career victory and first of the 2025 season, also represents a pivotal milestone for Trackhouse Racing.

Chastain executed a masterful overtaking maneuver against William Byron with just a few laps remaining. Despite leading an impressive 283 of 400 laps and winning the first three stages, Byron was relegated to second place. Chase Briscoe, starting from pole position, finished third, showcasing strong competitiveness for Toyota, while Brad Keselowski emerged as the top Ford driver, finishing fourth. Chase Elliott rounded out the top five.

In a disappointing turn, Denny Hamlin, who appeared on track to contend for the win, finished 16th after his team failed to secure a full tank of fuel during the closing laps while he was running in third position. Notably, eight drivers did not finish the race, including Kyle Larson, who faced DNFs due to accidents in both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600.

Jimmie Johnson marked his 700th career start but finished last after an early incident curtailed his race.

Chastain’s remarkable comeback embodies the relentless spirit of NASCAR, setting a high bar for future competitions.
