Haas Factory Team to Switch to Chevrolet in 2026

Haas Factory Team has officially announced its transition to compete under the Chevrolet banner starting in 2026, affecting both its NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series operations. Currently aligned with Ford Racing, the team has secured a technical partnership with Hendrick Motorsports, which will provide engines for the upcoming season.

Key Details:

  • The organization has been fielding a single entry in the Cup Series and two entries in the Xfinity Series, set to be rebranded as the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series next year.
  • Joe Custer, president of Haas Factory Team, expressed gratitude towards Ford for their long-standing partnership since 2017, emphasizing their commitment to achieving results through the current season.

After initially planning to dissolve Stewart-Haas Racing following the 2024 season, Gene Haas opted to maintain one charter, leading to this new chapter with Chevrolet. Historically, Haas’s NASCAR involvement began with Chevrolet-backed Haas CNC Racing in 2002.

Custer noted, “We remain dedicated to delivering results for [Ford] all the way through the season finale in Phoenix.”

Haas reflected on his previous ties with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports, stating, “Both helped in establishing not only my presence as a team owner in NASCAR, but also the presence of Haas Automation.”

Rick Hendrick also acknowledged the significance of this partnership, saying, “This feels almost like a homecoming,” highlighting their shared history and previous collaboration.

Looking ahead, Cole Custer will continue as the driver for the Cup Series entry in 2026, while Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer will retain their positions in the Xfinity Series.
