Watkins Glen International: Practice Highlights Ahead of Go Bowling at the Glen
Watkins Glen, NY – Justin Haley topped the practice sessions Saturday for the Go Bowling at the Glen NASCAR Cup Series race, clocking a speed of 121.364 mph. This announcement comes as Haley seeks his first win of the season with only three races remaining in the regular season.
Haley, representing Spire Motorsports, narrowly outpaced teammate Michael McDowell, who finished second with a speed of 121.362 mph. Notable drivers in the top five included Chris Buescher, Ty Gibbs, and Kyle Larson, showcasing a competitive mix from Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota.
A significant highlight from the session was Shane van Gisbergen, a three-time winner on road and street courses this year, who surprisingly placed sixth at 121.102 mph. Van Gisbergen recently signed a multi-year contract extension with Trackhouse Racing.
Other notable speeds included Connor Zilisch in seventh. Conversely, established veterans such as Denny Hamlin (32nd), Bubba Wallace (34th), and Brad Keselowski (35th) struggled to find pace.
The Go Bowling at the Glen sets the stage for the final stretch of the regular season, with upcoming races at Richmond and Daytona Beach.
