Denny Hamlin Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension with Joe Gibbs Racing

Denny Hamlin, 44, has solidified his future with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) by signing a multiyear contract extension. The specifics of the deal remain undisclosed, but it ensures his continued presence behind the No. 11 Toyota.

“This team is family to me, and we’ve achieved so much together over the last 20 years,” Hamlin remarked. His statement was underscored by a successful start to the 2023 season, highlighted by his recent victory at Dover Motor Speedway, marking his fourth win of the year and positioning him as the leader in the NASCAR Cup Series for victories.

Hamlin’s relationship with JGR is unparalleled; he has driven for the team since making his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2005. The longest-tenured driver for JGR, Hamlin has participated in 706 races, securing 58 wins, including three Daytona 500 titles, three Southern 500s at Darlington, and a Coca-Cola 600 victory.

Looking ahead, Hamlin is set to compete in his 17th Brickyard 400 this Sunday, the only crown jewel race that eludes his grasp.

Joe Gibbs expressed his sentiments, stating, “Denny has meant so much to our organization. It’s remarkable for any athlete to sustain such a high level of performance for this long, and we are incredibly proud he has spent his entire career with us.”
