Corey Heim Dominates at Lime Rock Park, Secures Fifth Win of Season

Corey Heim delivered a masterclass in control and speed during the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series’ inaugural race at Lime Rock Park, claiming victory in the LiUNA! 150. Leading 99 of 100 laps on the 1.478-mile road course in Lakeville, Connecticut, Heim’s performance marked his fifth win of the season and the 16th of his career.

The only lap Heim did not lead occurred during a late-race restart when Matt Mills stalled after running off course on lap 90. Layne Riggs briefly overtook Heim on lap 96 but was unable to maintain his position after an aggressive dive into Turn 1, which jammed the field behind him.

Driving the No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota, Heim also set the fastest lap of the race at 54.941 seconds and swept both stage wins with dominant leads, finishing Stage 1 7.065 seconds ahead of Riggs and Stage 2 by 7.281 seconds, solidifying his status as a road course specialist.

“Yeah, that was nothing short of incredible,” Heim remarked. “These road courses—I really look forward to them… to see all that pay off is super special.”

Reigning Truck Series champion Ty Majeski finished second, crossing the line 1.381 seconds behind Heim. Majeski acknowledged the challenges he faced, noting, “We struggled with the truck a little bit to fire off… Overall, really good day. This is the point when I want to turn our season around.”

Giovanni Ruggiero captured third place, followed by Ben Rhodes and Australian Cam Waters, with ThorSport Racing securing three of the top five positions. Riggs ultimately finished 13th after being shuffled in the Turn 1 incident. Notably, road racing veteran Jordan Taylor, who initially placed in the top three in both stages, ended the race in 20th position.

Heim’s victory underscores his historic prowess on road courses, as he is now the first driver in Truck Series history to win three consecutive road-course events, adding Mid-Ohio and Circuit of The Americas to his impressive resume.

With the next races scheduled at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Watkins Glen, and Richmond, Heim is well-positioned as he aims to capitalize on his current momentum heading into the playoffs.
